Malik Hasan

Origin and Background:

Coach Mal is originally from Buffalo, NY and a graduate of the University of Buffalo. He has extensive experience as both a player and coach. As a player, he had earned multiple State honors and a silver medal at the Empire State Games (Olympic Festival) where he was selected as the MVP of the tournament.  His team included two future US National team players.  Additionally, he was honored as a 2-time All-Erie County, 2-time All-Western New York and 1-time All-State (NY) player.  He later played at the collegiate level on a scholarship and was selected as Conference Rookie of the Year.

Credentials and Coaching Experience:

Mal’s coaching experience includes coaching positions at the collegiate (Canisius College), high school and youth levels.  He has coached both boys and girls at the high school and youth levels.  He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches of America Association (NSCAA), United Soccer Coaches (USC), the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association (NFHS), Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA)  and National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA).  He has earned a NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA National Diploma, USSF National D License, and Level III National Goalkeeping Diploma. 

Leadership Roles:

He is the Director of Coaching for both the Recreational and Competitive programs and has created and oversees an age appropriate player development training curriculum for all club players and coaches. 

Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors as the President of the club and has been a member of the coaching staff at Royal Palm Beach High School since 2011 where he serves as the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity team.  He is also a certified USSF Grade 8 referee.  

Coach Mal's dedication to soccer is evident in his deep commitment to developing players and coaches under his leadership, fostering a high standard of competitiveness, sportsmanship, communication and trust across all levels.  He has the inimitable ability to connect with and motivate those around him. His comprehensive approach to coaching and his notable success in various prestigious leagues and tournaments highlight his ability to elevate player potential and achieve significant team accomplishments.  A multitude of his former players have received collegiate scholarships and have advanced to play at the collegiate and/or professional levels.  Coach Mal’s extensive experience and leadership continue to enrich the lives of players, coaches, and the overall success of the programs he oversees.

Off of the field, Mal serves as the Chief Investigator of a Government Agency where he has been employed for over 20 years.
